Run to God!

I'm sitting here with writer's block this morning.

The wind didn't help with the sleeping process, nor did the schedule. I just talked about it on Sunday, how we have to pare down, give ourselves time to breathe, to bask in the presence of God and right now because of my schedule, I'm doing that walk with slumped shoulders. I guess I should listen to my own sermon, huh?

"Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life; don't for a minute lose sight of them. They'll keep your soul alive and well, they'll keep you fit and attractive. You'll travel safely, you'll neither tire nor trip. You'll take afternoon naps without a worry, you'll enjoy a good night's sleep." (Proverbs 3:21-23, The Message)

Okay, so I've got some work to do, to clear out my schedule. But that's no easy task. Yet it's one that is critical to my well being.

And yours.

Earlier in Proverbs 3:5 it says, "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own." And the best one for last, "Run to God! Run from evil!"(5:7)

In the next couple of weeks if you don't find me in the office one day, I've not run away, I've run to God. I'm listening for God's voice and trying to find a place to do that in the most complete way.

I've got to do that for my sake, for your sake.

And so do you. It's not only my job to listen for God and to honor wisdom, clear thinking and common sense. It's our job.

And "...God will be right there with you; he'll keep you safe and sound." (Prov. 3:26, The Message)

Run to God, first!

What you are saying is very true. When we take on to much we can't always do justice to anything. I have started by taking one step at a time. I say to myself fist I do this , second I do this and so on. I do find that I can do more by taking one step at a time. I know that it is hard for a pastor to know when to say no. Take care and put priorities in order.

PC,
What feels like writers block,is a labor of your love.
Thank You!

I promised God last weekend to practice Proverbs 3:5. This scripture is now a bookmark in my Bible and posted by my computer.

Saving the World is a big job, requiring the entire Body of Christ

Practicing the presence of God is what gets me through my busy life. Only He can give me the strength to persevere and carry on. As you are saying, PC, only in Him may we find the rest that we so desperately need and that you so desperately deserve. Only in Him may we find quiet and peace.

I too am finding the need to "run to God" and then to climb into His lap and let him hold me. I am really missing my normal morning routine!

BTW
I will be happy to share my purple couch and my "God Blankie"!;-)

How I know the feeling of needing a quiet place to go. Inside our busy brains and lives that place is waiting to be brought forward to a place of importance!

God allows us the wisdom to know when we are at a crossroads, a place of overload.

Healthy means, mind, body and spirit. When we ask for help,we will receive it.

Look out the windows at the beauty of this spring, the colors bursting and sunsets that are painted just for our eyes, and know that God hears, feels and is leading you to that "place" where you need to go and "be quiet".

God's rest, God's Peace & most of all His Love abounds.

Christ is Risen, Christ is Risen Indeed!
